Jabarry Goodridge with 14 kills in the Highlanders 3-0 sweep against, visiting University of Charleston (WV) in Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Friday night at the Fleisher Athletic Center.
NJIT (4-15; 3-3 EIVA) won in straight sets, 25-17, 25-12 and 25-18.
Goodridge, reigning VolleyMetrics Player of the Week, led the match with 14 kills on 24 swings with two errors. The junior hit .500 for the match.
Junior
Brad Thele and redshirt senior
TJ Jurko added eight kills apiece. Thele finished with a .467 hitting percentage on 15 swings with just one error.

Ricardo Whitaker, making the start in place of injured
Cameron Tait, piled up a match-best 29 assists and 9 digs for the Highlanders. Thele and Jurko each combined for five digs while Goodridge, redshirt junior middle

Raphael Anthony recorded five total blocks (1 solo, 4 blocks).
Charleston (WV) (4-15; 0-8 EIVA) had four players' record four kills each. The Golden Eagles split time at the setting position between Anthony Rivera and Brandon Greenway with 12 and 10 assists respectively. Libero Indy Nenn recorded six digs.
NJIT, who hit .385 in the first set, took control early on a 7-1 spurt. The Highlanders extended its lead to 18-9 and cruised to a 25-17 victory. Goodridge led the set with six kills.
In the second frame, the Highlanders opened up on a 10-5 run and took a 10-point lead, 22-12, on a service error by the Golden Eagles. Goodridge connected on back-to-back kills and a block by NJIT's Anthony closed out the set with a 25-12 victory.
NJIT recorded a .409 hitting percentage in the final set paced by Goodridge's four kills. The Highlanders jumped out to a 6-1 advantage. The Golden Eagles got as close as two points, 10-12, on an NJIT attack error.
NJIT would push its lead to six, 21-15, on a kill by Jurko and the Highlanders scored the final three points of the match for a 25-18 victory.
Both teams will return to action on Saturday at 4pm in the Fleisher Athletic Center.
