Biography

2016: Named to the second-team All-EIVA as a freshman, was one of two seniors selected to the second-team this season. ... finishes his career at NJIT with 1,099 kills, 499 digs and 113 service aces.  Jurko hit the 1,000 kill plateau this season behind a 16-kill performance in the Highlanders thrilling 3-2 victory at Princeton on March 22. ... the outside hitter ranked third in the conference in service aces per set (0.37) and fifth in total kills (314).  He recorded 19 double-digit kill matches, including three 20+ performances to go along with three double-double matches.

2015: Appeared in all 24 matches. ... led the team in points 335.5 (3.77pps) and tied for first with 33 serving aces, second on the team in kills with 284 (3.19kps) and digs wiith 121 (1.36dps). ... recorded 33 blocks. ... named NJIT Male Athlete of the Week (2/23) and EIVA Offensive Player of the Week (2/23). ... 2015 EIVA All-Academic Team. ... 2012: Named to the 2012 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) second team. ... led the Highlanders with 294 kills (3.34kps) and ranks 29th in the nation. ...  he ranks third on the team with 119 digs (1.35dps) in his first season at NJIT. ...the rookie notched double-figures in the kills' category in 15 out of 23 matches with a career-high 24 kills vs. Sacred Heart on February 20.  Jurko posted a career-high 15 digs vs. Sacred Heart registering his first double-double of the season.  The second double-double of the season for the freshman came against No. 15 Harvard on April 13 (14k, 10d).
