Game HighlightsPost Game InterviewNEWARK, NJ—The NJIT men's volleyball team won its third straight, blanking, visiting University of Charleston (WV), 3-0, Saturday afternoon in Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association in men's volleyball action.
NJIT sweeps the regular season series from Charleston (WV), improving to 5-13 overall, 4-3 in EIVA while the Golden Eagles dropped their eighth straight, falling to 4-16 overall, 0-9 in the league.
The hot-hitting Highlanders posted a .403 hitting percentage, combining for 37 kills on 67 swings and 10 errors. NJIT's counterpart struggled, as the Golden Eagles hit .123 for the match.
Junior outside hitter
Jabarry Goodridge led the match for the second night with 16 kills. In 15 matches played this season, Goodridge has recorded double-digit kills in every game but one, including a season-best 27 vs. George Mason (March 4).

TJ Jurko and Brade Thele posted six kills each. Redshirt junior middle
Luke Robbe hit .429 for the match with 3 kills on 7 swings with no errors while senior middle
Raphael Anthony recorded a .500 hitting percentage with 5 kills, 1 error, 8 attempts.
Freshman setter
Ricardo Whitaker piled up a match-best 28 assists while Goodridge led the Highlanders defensively with digs. Whitaker followed with 5 digs.
The Highlanders held a 9.0-to-2.0 team blocking advantage paced by four blocks apiece from Goodridge (1 solo, 3 assists), Robbe (1 solo, 3 assists) and Anthony (4 assists).
NJIT led the service ace category 7-to-4 with four aces from Goodridge. The four aces for Goodridge are the second highest by the junior this season (6 vs. McKendree).
The Golden Eagles were led by sophomore right side Rajahl Moxey with 11 kills. Sophomore setter Anthony Rivera notched 23 assists while libero Indy Nenn combined for six digs.
The first frame saw six early ties, the final at 7-7, after the Highlanders scored three consecutive points for a 10-7 advantage. The Golden Eagles slimmed the Highlander lead to one, 11-12, on a kill by Rajahl. NJIT used a 4-1 spurt for a 16-12 lead, resulting in a Charleston timeout. The Golden Eagles scored two consecutive points out of the timeout, but the Highlanders scored the next seven points and cruised to a 25-18 victory.
Goodridge led the frame with 6 kills with 1 error on 7 swings for a .714 hitting percentage.
The second set, which was played tight throughout until the Highlanders scored four straight in the mid-teens before taking a 21-15 advantage. Goodridge notched 7 kills in the set.
NJIT took control early in the third set, 4-1, but the Golden Eagles rallied back to tie the score at 7-7 and stay within one of the Highlanders, 11-10, until the Highlanders scored five straight points, extending its lead to six, 16-10 and never looked back, coming out on top, 25-14.
The Highlanders will have nine days off before returning to action on April 22 at Princeton. The match is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
