NEWARK, NJ—The NJIT women's tennis team opened the 2016 spring season, hosting visiting Seton Hall Friday afternoon at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.

Seton Hall (2-2) won its second straight match of the season, sweeping the doubles contests and four out of six singles contests to earn the 5-2 victory.

NJIT (0-1) picked up two singles victories at third and sixth singles.

Freshman Rafaella Sampaio was a straight set winner at the third spot, 7-5, 6-3 defeating Seton Hall's Isabell Klingert.

Sophomore Natalija Tasovac, competing at sixth singles, topped Marisa Quevedo, 6-3, 7-6 (4).

NJIT will return to action on Sunday at 2:30pm, hosting LIU Brooklyn in The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
