NJIT, in its first season as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, will close out the 2015-16 regular season on February 27 at USC Upstate at 2pm.
Every team qualifies for the Atlantic Sun Conference championship tournament, which begins on March 4 with the quarterfinal round at the campus sites of the top four seeded teams.
NJIT will be the eighth seed unless the Highalnders win at Upstate
and Lipscomb, currently #7, loses at Kennesaw State on Saturday.
If NJIT is seeded is eighth, it would open the tournament at runaway first-place winner Florida Gulf Coast.
Saturday will mark the second all-time meeting between the two schools. The Spartans defeated NJIT 58-41 in Newark in the first meeting.
SCOUTING USC UPSTATEUpstate enters the regular season finale with an 18-10 overall record and 9-4 mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Spartans suffered a 75-69 overtime loss at Jacksonville on Monday.
Senior Brittany Starling leads the Atlantic Sun in rebounds (12.1 rpg) and is second in scoring (15.5 ppg) and free throws. She is sixth in rebounds, tied for seventh in double-doubles(9) and eighth in rebounds per game among NCAA Division I players.
Travonda Haddock is third in the league in blocks (36) and eighth in rebounds while classmate Kristin Dickerson ranks fourth in free throws and fifth in steals.
HEAD COACH TAMMY GEORGEHead Coach Tammy George in her 11th season at the helm of the Spartans, is the all-time leader in victories (143) at USC Upstate. She guided the Spartans to two Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) tournament appearances in 2010-11 and 2013-14. In 2013-14, the Spartans finished with the third-best season in Division I history (currently in ninth season as a Division I program; first season 2007-08) with a 17-15 overall mark, 11-7 in the Atlantic Sun.
In her first season at USC Upstate in 2005-06, she led the Spartans to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 1994-95 season, finishing with a 16-14 overall record.

NJIT (1-12 A-Sun, 4-24) got 12 points, five rebounds and four assists from junior point guard
Alana Dudley against North Florida. Dudley finished 5-for-9 from the field. The junior has 88 assists on the season, which ranks fourth all-time at NJIT in the Division I era (first season 2006-07) and has at least one assist in 26 of NJIT's 27 games.Â
Alana's sister,
Olivia Dudley was NJIT's other double-digit scorer with 10 points, including a pair of three-pointers, and four assists. Freshman
Kelly Guarino and
Tatianna Torres added eight points for NJIT. The eight points for Torres is a new personal-best.Â
Guarino moves into third all-time in the Division I era at NJIT with 61 three-point baskets made.  The record stands at 77 by
Denisa Domiterova (2011-12).
