Tim Coleman was named ASUN Co-Player of the Week along with UNF's
Dallas Moore by conference officials on Monday -- marking the first time in his career Coleman received ASUN weekly honors. He also becomes the second Highlander to earn the award this season (
Damon Lynn, Nov. 14-20) and the third all-time.
The Union, N.J., native played a leading role in NJIT's 2-0 week with terrific all-around averages of 21.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 1.0 apg, 2.0 spg, 2.0 bpg.
In a Highlanders' 83-70 win over Saint Francis University on Wednesday, Coleman tied a career high with 27 points while adding eight rebounds an assist, two steals and two blocks. The co-captain was strong down the stretch, draining 12 of 14 free throws.
He followed up with another stellar performance in a 75-74 road win at UMass Lowell on Saturday, notching 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. The double-double marked his second of the season and 12th of his career -- tying NJIT's all-time career record (Nesho Milosevic '08; Isaiah Wilkerson '12).
Coleman, a preseason ASUN All-Conference selection, currently ranks tied for 30th in the nation in D-I active career rebounds (610) and is just seven boards away from becoming NJIT's all-time career rebounding leader. The current record is 616, held by Isaiah Wilkerson '12.
