NEWARK, NJ – NJIT men's ice hockey remains undefeated at home with a 4-1 win over West Chester on Sunday at the Prudential Center.
The game was largely even in the first period, before the performance of the formidable Highlander power play.
Christopher Murphy and
Phil Lelikov each scored during power plays to give NJIT a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.
After a scoreless middle period, Lelikov notched his second of the night for some insurance for NJIT. The Rams scored their only goal to try to gain some ground, but Murphy slid his second of the night into an empty net solidifying the Highlanders 4-1 victory.
Sophomore
Thomas Pyrka was a strong presence in net for NJIT collecting 21 saves in the win.
