N​EWARK, NJ - The NJIT men's hockey team wanted to start their MCHC conference portion of the 2025-2026 season on a good note after winning their ​first game.
The Sacred Heart Pioneers however, showed why they are the three-time reigning MCHC Champions with a 12-0 win at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House. The Pioneers are now 5-0 vs the Highlanders since joining the MCHC. NJIT's ACHA record is now at 1-1
Ian Eitienne, Owen John, and Niko Scherrer all made their debut as Highlanders. The Pioneers scored four goals in the 1st, five goals in the 2nd, and three goals in the 3rd. Elliot Marken made 32 saves in a strong outing in his 1st ever appearance as a Highlander. He made a lot of great saves with a ton of high quality scoring chances for Sacred Heart.
