NEWARK, NJ—The NJIT men's tennis team swept visiting St. Francis Brooklyn, 7-0, at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
The Highlanders (5-4) swept the doubles contests and recorded straight-set victories in all six singles matches, cruising to a 7-0 victory.
NJIT doubles pair
Markus Schultz and
Arnaud Holl teamed for an 8-4 victory over Martin Bedecarratz and Victor Blasco at first doubles. Schultz was a 6-1, 7-5 winner at first singles, topping Terrier Francesc Terns-Campius while Holl combined for a 6-3, 6-2 victory at the third spot defeating Bedecarratz.
Highlander duo
Andres Alban and
Jan Cimrman recorded an 8-1 victory at second doubles topping Marc Adams and Milos Vukicevic. Alban posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory at second singles over Blasco, while Cimrman won by identical scores, 6-0, 6-0 at the fourth spot defeating Adams.
Richard Rangga and
Luka Kaic notched an 8-6 win at third doubles, topping St. Francis Brooklyn pair Andrea Proto and Francesc Terns-Campius. Rangga recorded a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the fifth spot while Kaic was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at six singles.
NJIT will return to action on Sunday when the Highlanders host Monmouth at 4pm in the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
