COLUMBUS, OH—NJIT freshman
Julia Garcia made her debut at the 2015 NCAA Fencing Championships Saturday on day three of the championships hosted by Ohio State at French Field House.
Garcia, from Madrid, Spain, finished the first day of the women's event with an 11-4 record and ranked 4th in the women's epee event.
After round 1: Julia was 3-4 and ranked 19th

After round 2: Julia was 7-4 and ranked 7th
Signe Ferguson of Brown: W 5-3
Rebecca Rose of Stanford: W 5-4
May Peterson of Stanford: W 5-3
Victoria Wines of Cornell: W 5-4
After round 3: Julia was 11-4 and ranked 4th
Eugenia Falqui of Ohio State: W 5-3
Olivia Adragna of Boston College: W 5-4
Renee Bichette of Boston College: W 5-2
Emma Vaggo of Harvard: W 5-4
The NJIT team is currently ranked 13th with two rounds remaining in the national championships.
Saturday marks the end of competition with rounds four and five, beginning at 9 am in French Field House. The semifinal and championship bouts start at 1:30 pm in St. John Arena.
