KENNESAW, GA—Kennesaw State scored three goals in each half for a convincing 6-1 victory over visiting NJIT in Atlantic Sun Conference women's soccer action Saturday afternoon at 5

rd Bank Stadium.
The Owls (4-7, 1-1 A-Sun) earned their first conference victory behind a pair of goals from sophomore Abby Roth in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
Junior Maggie Gaughan scored her third goal of the season and recorded two assists for the Owls. Sophomore midfielder Khatra Mahdi notched her first collegiate goal and added an assist, while juniors Monica Herrera and Cassidy Kemp were Kennesaw State's other two goal scorers. Sophomore Ida Hepsoe tallied three assists.
The Highlanders (2-8, 0-2) got on the board in the 72
nd minute, on a goal by freshman
Arianna Gerber, her third of the season. Gerber carried the ball down the left side of the field and placed the ball in the right corner, beating Kennesaw State keeper Ashley Zambetti.
NJIT senior goalkeeper
Samantha Bersett recorded nine saves in the loss while her counterpart sophomore Zambetti posted two saves.
The Highlanders will host Delaware State on Tuesday, October 6 at 7pm. NJIT will be taking donations for Pediatric Cancer and selling shoelaces for $5.00 throughout the game.
