TEANECK, NJ—The NJIT men's tennis team won its sixth straight match, edging Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at the FDU Tennis Courts.
The Highlanders, now 15-3 overall, have won its last six contests dating back to March 9 with a 7-0 victory at home vs. Hofstra. It was also the second straight 4-3 victory for the visiting Highlanders. FDU fell to 5-6 overall.
NJIT swept the doubles contests, earning the point with wins at the second and third spot. Each team won three singles contests with the Highlanders earning the team win as the result of taking the doubles point.
Senior
Fraser Croad started off the match defeated FDU's Dominic Devaux-Lovell in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0. The Knights evened the match at 1-1 with a win a second singles and went ahead 2-1 with a straight sets win at the fifth spot.
Newcomer
Markus Schultz evened the match at 2-2 with a three-set tilt at first singles, 6-3, 0-6, 6-3 and classmate
Andres Alban also battled out a three-set tilt at third singles 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 for a 3-2 lead. FDU won its third point at fourth singles.
NJIT will return to action on Saturday at St. Joseph's at 12pm.
