VILLANOVA, PA—The NJIT men's tennis team won its fifth straight match Sunday edging Villanova, 4-3.
NJIT (14-3) won four out of six singles contests, earning the 4-3 victory. Villanova took two out of three doubles contests to earn the point and won first and third singles.
Highlander pair
Holger Norregaard and
Markus Schultz, competing at second doubles, won 8-6 over Matt Colonnese and Max Levine. Norregaard followed up with a three-set win at second singles over Chris Seitz, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Petr Rousar won the three-set battle at fourth singles over Levine, 1-6, 6-2, 7-6(5) while
Fraser Croad also went the distance at the sixth spot winning 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(3) past Kelly Donadlson.
At fifth singles,
Erik Artursson won by identical scores, 6-2, 6-2 cruising past Michael Rosengren.
The Highlander will return to action on April 6 at Fairleigh Dickinson. The match is scheduled for 11am.
