NEW YORK—The NJIT women's fencing team edged The City College of New York Friday evening, 14-13, in a final tune-up for the NIFWA Championships on March 2.
The epee squad registered a 6-3 record led by senior
Jaila Graham who went 3-0 on the strip.
Julia Aronov combined for a 2-1 record while
Rebecca Richmond earned one point against CCNY.
Two Highlanders combined for a 2-1 record on the foil strip –
Hannah Huan and
Michelle Potestio.
Jennifer Ligo earned a point against CCNY.
On the sabre strip,
Opeyemi Alade,
Jennifer Silva and
Margaret Christian each posted 1-2 records combining for a 3-6 overall record on the strip.
NJIT will return to action on March 2 at the NIFWA Championships hosted by Swarthmore.
