NEWARK, NJ—TCNJ took over sole possession of first place in the East Division of the GNCHC standings with a powerful display of hockey at Prudential Center Friday night, topping the Highlanders, 8-0.
Eight different players scored for the Lions, while the Highlanders lost two more players to injury.
NJIT is now down to just two of its seven original defensemen, as
Daniel Smith and
Christian Corey are now day-to-day, joining
Nick Wujek and Dave Ferrero with injuries.
With
Rhys Jones and
Liam Jones out with an illness and
Michael Failla serving a suspension tomorrow for an inadvertent hit-from-behind in last night's game the Highlanders will be severely shorthanded on Sunday when Gettysburg comes to town for a 3:30 game.
Last year Gettysburg held on to win an exciting 5-4 game.
