NEWARK, NJ—In the first action after the winter break the Highlanders were swept by William Paterson 8-0 and Army 11-1.
No surprise in the game against the William Paterson Pioneers as they are perennial National Championship Contenders, this was a chance for the Highlanders to kick off the 2nd half of the season in a fast paced contest against an exceptional program and for both teams to save on travel.
Army, however, was a much different story.
In their inaugural season, the Cadets have struggled to gain acceptance at West Point. They have not been able to host any games on campus, despite the fact that they have a beautiful facility that is open to the public.
Thus, they have only played games against opponents that would host them without a reciprocal game in return. Despite their logistical issues Army is undefeated and looking forward to establishing themselves in the ACHA and on their own campus.
Regular season action continues next week when GNCHC opponents Muhlenberg & Bucknell come to Prudential Center on Saturday and Sunday.
