NEWARK, NJ—The NJIT women's tennis team won its 11
th straight match of the season and finished a perfect 9-0 at home as the Highlanders blanked Saint Joseph's, 7-0, at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
NJIT, which started its win streak on February 17 with a win over Rhode Island, improves to 15-2 on the season.
In doubles competition, the Highlanders won the first and second spot by identical scores, 8-3, and followed up with an 8-2 victory at third doubles.
The Highlanders took all singles contests in straight sets Sunday. Sophomore
Ksenia Kuzmenko won 6-3, 6-4 at first singles over Saint Joseph's Casey Robinson.
Senior
Nina Mayevska and freshman
Carolina Zanotta won by identical scores, 6-1, 6-1 at second and fifth singles while junior
Monika Graff was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at the third spot.
Sophomore
Jana Luste defeated Saint Joseph's Lauren Roy, 6-2, 6-2 at fourth singles while Martina Tripcovicic was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at the sixth spot.
The Highlanders will play the remainder of its schedule away from The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility, first traveling to Army on Friday at 4pm.
