NEWARK, NJ-The Highlanders got off to a good start at home last night against the Pirates of Seton Hall only to run out of steam in the end.
Adam Finkle, assisted by
Robert Amos scored early in the 1st period to give NJIT a 1 - 0 lead.
Timothy Valvano sandwiched a pair of goals around a Seton Hall score in the 2nd for a 3 - 1 lead.
Seton Hall went on to scored 2 power play goals - one near the end of the second period and another with 3:31 to go in the third period to forge a 3 - 3 tie.
A scoreless overtime sent both teams home unhappy. In the meantime another Highlander was injured when

The team is down to 15 skaters and 1 goalie and will have to tough out the rest of the first semester and hope that the injured players a ready to go in January.
Assists on the first Valvano goal were given to
Daniel Smith &
Jason Anagnos and the second was unassisted.
