HOBOKEN, NJ – The NJIT men's fencing team finished with a 2-2 record at the Stevens Invitational Sunday afternoon at Canavan Arena.
The two Highlander wins came against University of Maryland (15-12) and University of Virginia (16-11). NJIT was edged by William & Mary (16-11) and was downed by Johns Hopkins (22-6).
The NJIT saber squad turned in a strong performance on Sunday, going 27-9 over four matches. Junior
Christian Aldover led the saber squad with a 10-2 record, sweeping Maryland, Virginia and William & Mary.
Following Aldover was sophomore
Bryan Ransinangue, who finished the day with a 9-3 record, sweeping Virginia and William & Mary and going 2-1 against Maryland. Junior
Dylan Carr combined for a 7-2 record, as Carr only fenced against Maryland, Johns Hopkins and Virginia.

Max McDermott led the foil squad as he finished with a 9-3 record on the day sweeping Maryland and Virginia. Freshman
Ian Pershad picked up two wins against Maryland and Virginia. The foil squad finished 18-18 on the day.
The Highlanders will return to action on Sunday, February 12 at the MACFA A vs. B hosted by Drew in Madison, NJ.
