MAHWAH, NJ --The NJIT Swimming team traveled to Ramapo Saturday afternoon.

The beginning of meet began with some great swims from the Highlanders.  Junior Shawn Bryan placed first in the 100 Freestyle (51.78) and second in the 50 Freestyle (23.10) and 200 Freestyle (1:53.84).

Freshman Nick Estevez placed first in the 1000 Freestyle at 11:18.01 and second in the 500 Freestyle 5:27.94.  In addition, senior captain swam a lifetime best in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:33.92.

To close out the meet, the 200 Freestyle Relay consisting of Victor Razuk, Jon Van Ostenbridge, Estevez and Bryan swam into first place with a time of 1:34.74.

Head Coach Michael Lawson commented, “From where they were at this point in the season last year I already see improvements.  I'm very pleased to see the performances in the pool with each and every Highlander swimmer today.”

Ramapo defeated NJIT, 150-77.

Sunday November 20, the Highlanders have their last home meet of 2011 against Manhattan.
