PHILADEPHIA – The NJIT women's tennis team was dominant in its 6-1 victory at Saint Joseph's Sunday afternoon at the SJU Tennis Complex.  The Highlanders won five out of six singles matches and took two of three doubles contests.

NJIT earned the first point of the match as it claimed two of the three doubles points.  Highlander's duo Nina Mayevska and Isha Toor were 8-3 winners at first doubles while Ana Lidon and Anine Lovdal recorded an 8-0 victory at second doubles.

Individually, NJIT took five of six singles matches.  Mayevska won in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6 over Saint Joseph's Maggie Mullaney.  Lidon won by identical scores, 6-2, 6-2 at second singles. 

Senior Isha Toor, competing at third singles took the first set from Saint Joseph's Sally Kalani Stainer 6-3.  Kalani Stainer bounced back in the second set topping Toor 6-4.  In the final set, Toor was victorious with a 10-8 victory.

NJIT's Lovdal downed Nicole Esposito 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles and was followed by a 6-0, 6-3 win by senior Fanny Aizier at the fifth spot.

The Highlanders will be back in action on Monday, April 5 at 4pm when they host Manhattan at Brookdale Park in Montclair, NJ.
