Loudonville, NY – The New Jersey Institute of Technology men's tennis team was dominant in its 7-0 victory over Siena Monday afternoon.
The Highlanders won all six singles matches and added two victories in the doubles contests, second doubles at 8-3 and third doubles at 8-2.
NJIT's Cosmin Chiujdea had a big day, teaming with Dimitri Athans to win, 8-3, at second doubles and notching a 6-4, 6-0 win at second singles over Siena's Jarrett Siwiec.
Athans won at fourth singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
The Highlanders' Dan Salomon combined with senior Mike Sullivan to take third doubles, 8-2, and Salomon also won third singles, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 while Sullivan won 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 at the sixth spot.
Junior Steve Erickson defeated Siena's Jeremy Deuel 6-1, 7-5 at first singles and Anthony Tunnero won is straight sets at fifth singles, 6-4, 6-1.
The Highlanders will wrap up the 2008-09 season on Wednesday, when they travel to West Long Branch to face Monmouth. The match is scheduled to start at 3 pm.
