FORT MYERS, FL - The NJIT women's tennis team scored a convincing 6-1 win over Colgate University Monday afternoon at the Florida Gulf Coast Tennis Complex.

The Highlanders, who won five of the six singles spots, claimed the doubles contests with two victories.

Three of the singles wins came in straight sets for the Highlanders, while the other two wins were decided in three sets.

The straight sets winners were senior Iulia Doci 6-2, 6-0 over Colgate's Elise DeRose.  Fanny Aizier was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at third singles while Isha Toor picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at fourth singles.

NJIT's Dasa Stanimirovic took the point at fifth singles 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 over Cam Thaney and Anine Lovdal defeated Jackie Stimmel 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 in the sixth spot.

The Highlander's opened up the day with two out of three wins in the doubles contests.  Doci and Lidon topped Elise DeRosa and Alex Erickson 8-3 at first doubles while Lovdal and Toor were 8-3 winners at third doubles for NJIT.

NJIT will face host Florida Gulf Coast University Tuesday afternoon.
