NEWARK, NJ – The NJIT women's fencing team hosted its first meet of the season against Queens (NY) Wednesday afternoon at the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

NJIT was led by Macarena Maldonado and Karen Cilento.  Maldonado, an epee specialist went 3-0 while Cilento finished 3-0 at saber.

Sophomore Jennifer Ramos competing on the foil strip, finished the night with a 2-1 record.

Queens edged NJIT 16-11.

The women's fencing team will return to action on Sunday, December 6 when they compete in the NIFWA Invitational.
