NJIT - 7 vs. CCM - 2

NEWARK, NJ -- NJIT routed the Titans of Morris County Community College 7-2 this past Monday night at the Prudential Center to solidify their standings as playoff contenders.

Justin Gelesky notched his 2nd 4-goal game of the year and despite being out shot 50 -26 NJIT earned a win - as you only get points for the shots if they actually go in the net.  While goaltender Joe Cestaro had another strong outing and even recorded an assist, it was really the quality of the shots as opposed to the quantity that made the difference.  The line of Gelesky (4 goals, 1 assist) Fioravanti (1 goal, 3 assists) & Wintjen (2 assists) lead the team.

Defensemen Chris Pawlik (1 goal, 1 assist) and Chris Oertel each scored a goal, while Tom Lucin, Tim Cornely, Matt Smarsh and Steve Shepherd all had assists.

Sean Rohan scored twice for the Titans, but the night belonged to the Highlanders who relished their first ever victory over their closest rivals.
