NEWARK, NJ: New Jersey Institute of Technology took four of the six singles matches and two doubles contests for a 5-2 women's tennis win over visiting Rider Tuesday afternoon at Branch Brook Park.

First-year head coach Michael Sowter picked up his first victory of the year after joining the Highlanders in early July.

Senior Iulia Doci led the Highlanders, scoring a (6-0, 6-0) win in first singles and then combining with Dasa Stanimirovic for an (8-1) win at first doubles.

Also capturing wins in both singles and doubles for NJIT was Ana Lidon (6-0, 6-1) in second singles and (8-2) with Fanny Aizier in second doubles.

Aizier was a (6-2, 6-3) winner at third singles and Stanimirovic won the fourth singles (6-0, 6-0) and joined Doci for an (8-1) win in first doubles.

NJIT is slated to return to action on October 4 when they compete at the Stony Brook 3-Way Invitational.
