NEWARK, NJ -- Who would have thought it was possible? After a few years of struggling for respect the Highlanders seem to have made it there and beyond! Friday night was a good old-fashioned blowout - the kind in which NJIT used to be on the wrong end. This time however, NJIT was doing everything right and Desales couldn't catch a break.

With 4 goals in the opening period, 5 in the second and 4 more in the final period, this one was never in doubt. Yllano Tubijella posted a shutout by stopping all 8 shots against him. The shots against were 40 - 4 before at the start of the 3rd period as nine different players scored for the Highlanders.

Justin Gelesky turned in another strong outing with a hat trick on just 4 shots! Nick Naumovski and Steve Shepherd each had a pair, while Tim Cornely, Matt Webb, James Wintjen, Carmine DiCosmo, Kevin Mahon & Richard Travelin also scored.

Kevin McMorrow led the assist parade with three. Webb, Desi Fioravanti, Joe Whitford, Gelesky, Mike Melillo & Matt Smarsh each had two. Matt Dominguez,  Wintjen, Tim Cornely and Nick Naumovski had one apiece.
