West Orange, NJ -
Back at Codey Arena for the first time in almost a month the Highlanders were excited by the large turnout of supporters and gave the fans their monies worth.
The game featured a reunion of sorts as 4 former Ramapo Ranger Junior players were in action. Kevin Deevy and Jeff Lucas for the visitors and Kevin McMorrow and Miguel Dominguez for NJIT.
St. Thomas withstood a relentless attack early on, but NJIT's goal scoring leader Matt Webb (1-goal & 1-assist) broke the ice late in the 1st period and NJIT never looked back. Mark Wilson scored and Kevin Mulligan blasted a shot on the power play that appeared to be tipped in by Tim Cornely (1-goal & 2-assists).
Late in the period Chris Pawlik & Miguel Dominguez scored a minute apart to give the Highlanders had their biggest lead of the year. A late power play goal by St. Thomas was too little too late as the Highlanders, with Joe Cestaro in net, cruised to their second league victory in a row.
With no games over the Thanksgiving Holiday the team can enjoy themselves and prepare for an attempt at 3 in a row. Next up is SUNY New Paltz Friday night Nov. 30th at home.
