Syosset, NY - After returning home from last week's trip to the Capital District of NY the Highlanders were on the road again as they were back at the NY Islanders practice facility for a non-league contest against the Long Island CC Stars, a team of players from both Suffolk and Nassau Community Colleges.

A hard fought defensive battle was lost when LICC scored SHORTHANDED not once - but TWICE during the same NJIT power play. There is nothing more demoralizing than giving up a shorthanded goal, unless of course you do it again!

Still there several positive aspects as the Highlanders, thanks to their dedication to defense, were able to hold the high-flying Stars to only 2 other goals even though they were clearly the superior team at this point in the season.

On offense Matt Webb scored his team leading 3rd goal with Miguel Dominguez assisting.
