SYOSSET, NY -
Less than 24 hours after a hard fought game against CCM, the Highlanders traveled to Farmingdale for their first road game of the year.
NJIT was already missing two forwards and three defensemen due to injuries and personal reasons, when a fourth defenseman was lost as his skate blade broke at the end of the second period.
Due to the stellar play of goaltender Joe Cestaro the score was still close, but with half of the defensemen sidelined, the boys were eventually overwhelmed by the relentless attack of the Farmingdale skaters.
The Highlanders put up a good fight for two periods, but the combination of playing two games in less than 24 hours while severely shorthanded was too much to overcome against one of the premier teams in the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference.
Come out and support the Highlanders as they host Union College at Codey Arena Sunday October 28th at 8:45 PM.
