Biography

2024: America East Second Team selection...chosen to play in the USILA Senior All-Star Game...made an immediate impact for the Highlanders in his lone season in Newark...led NJIT and finished second in the America East in caused turnovers (30; 7th in NCAA) and CTOs per game (2.14; 5th in NCAA). His early season play earned him a historic spot on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List on Mar. 7 - the first Highlander to earn such a distinction. Bethel also scored a pair of goals this season - the game-tying goal in the OT win over Monmouth on Feb. 21 and a goal at UMBC on Apr. 20 - and was named America East Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks (Mar. 4, Feb. 26).

Prior to NJIT (at Bucknell): 2023 (Senior): Second Team All-Patriot League honoree … one of four to start all 13 games … tallied 22 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers … finished second on the team and fifth in the Patriot League with 1.69 caused turnovers per game … supplied at least three caused turnovers four times, including a season-high four in a victory over Mercer (2/4) … posted three or more ground balls five times, reaching a season-high four in two outings … member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll...2022 (Junior): Saw action in 11 games, with majority of time coming on defense ... switched to short-stick defensive midfielder near campaign's end ... made first collegiate start at defense against Binghamton ... collected nine ground balls and caused four turnovers ... filled the stat sheet with season-high totals in ground balls (3) and caused turnovers (2) at Navy ... scored first collegiate goal against Holy Cross ... member of Patriot League Academic Honor Roll...2021 (Sophomore): Played in four games at defense ... collected a ground ball at No. 12 Loyola ... member of Patriot League Academic Honor Roll...2020 (Freshman): Appeared in Marist game at defense, causing one turnover ... member of Patriot League Academic Honor Roll...Before Bucknell: Lettered in lacrosse and football at the Gilman School … played club lacrosse for FCA Maryland Lacrosse Club, Nations United Lacrosse and Juiced Cherries Lacrosse.
