Tyler Russell joined the NJIT men's lacrosse staff in January 2017, after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Kean University in Union, NJ.
Russell is currently the Director of the Youth Travel Building Blocks Lacrosse Club and serves as the head coach for the club's box lacrosse program.
A 2012 graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Russell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and was a four-year member of the men's lacrosse team (2009-12).
A two-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American Selection, Russell became the 14th player in program history to record 100 career goals.
Russell, the 2012 Liberty League Player of the Year as a senior, led RIT in scoring with 62 points, 53 goals and nine assists.
For his career, Russell finished with 128 career goals, which ranks seventh all-time at RIT and 122 goals, including a school-record 69 in 2011.
