NJIT Men’s Lacrosse head coach Eric Wolf announced the hiring of Tyler Barbarich as Assistant Coach in February 2025.
Barbarich joins NJIT after serving as the Director of High School All-Stars and Recruiting at Blue Star. He was involved in the development of practice plans, player meetings and mentorships. He also assisted in player recruitment to play college lacrosse.
Barbarich is also a coach at Face-Off Factory, where he teaches faceoff specialists different techniques, drills, and strategies to win.
In addition to his coaching roles, Barbarich serves as a Personal Trainer and Alpha Strength Coach at Lifetime Fitness.
Barbarich previously served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Maryland from June 2017 to August 2021. His responsibilities included developing practice plans and player meetings and coaching the goalkeepers and faceoff specialists. The Terrapins made two NCAA Final Four appearances during his tenure.
Before his stint at Maryland, Barbarich served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Delaware from August 2015 to May 2017. His responsibilities included instructing the faceoff specialists in different techniques and cutting up opposing teams’ film for the goalkeepers to study.
Barbarich played professionally as a faceoff specialist for the Boston Cannons and Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse from 2016 to 2019. He played college lacrosse at Delaware from 2011 to 2015, where he earned Second Team All-CAA honors in 2014 and was an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American nominee in 2015.
