NJIT Men's Lacrosse head coach Eric Wolf announced the hiring of Jon Lanzalotto as Assistant Coach in January 2025.
"I am thrilled to step into an assistant coaching role with a knowledgeable, energetic coaching staff to help the Highlanders win games," Lanzalotto said.
“We’re excited to have Jon on staff. His personality and work ethic will have a tremendous impact on our program,” Wolf said.
Lanzalotto joins NJIT after serving as the Offensive Coordinator at Montclair State in 2024. He coached and created gameplans for the offense, faceoffs, rides, and faceoffs. During the 2024 season, he developed the offense that averaged 11 goals per game, despite graduating 75% of the points from the previous season. His top attackman, Ryan Vierbuchen, earned Second Team All-Conference honors in 2024.
Lanzalotto is also a coaching staff member of the U-20 Haudenosaunee Team, which will compete in South Korea for the U-20 World Games in the summer of 2025.
In addition to his coaching roles, Lanzalotto serves as the Event Coordinator for the NJ Riot. He recruits new talent to join the Riot teams, organizes recruiting events, and develops offensive skills for players. He directed the 2024 Jersey Strong Showcase and was the head coach of a team that competed in the World Series of Youth Lacrosse for two consecutive years.
Lanzalotto previously worked as the Director of Operations at Rutgers Lacrosse from August 2022 to December 2023. His responsibilities included overseeing day-to-day operations of practice and prospect days, breaking down film for scouting purposes, and assisting in recruiting.
Lanzalotto played lacrosse at Montclair State from 2018 to 2021, tallying 11 goals and eight assists in 27 games as a midfielder.
