NJIT Men's Lacrosse coach Eric Wolf announced the hiring of Colby Plotts as Assistant Coach in August 2025.
"Colby Plotts’ New Jersey roots and fast-paced, up-tempo playing style from his time at Utah will make him a perfect addition to our staff. He’ll be instrumental in helping our players grow and compete at the highest level," Wolf said.
"I am very excited and grateful to join this program, and can't wait for what the future holds," Plotts said.
Plotts joins NJIT after serving as an Assistant Coach at Leading Edge Lacrosse Club, where he led defensive strategies, special teams, and goalie development. His team won two out of five tournaments during the summer in 2024.

The Sparta, New Jersey native also coached with True Lacrosse Club and Thunder Lacrosse Club.
Plotts played college lacrosse at the University of Utah, tallying 21 goals, 18 assists, 105 ground balls, and 50 caused turnovers in 62 games. He was selected to the All-ASUN Second Team in 2023 and 2025 and named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team in 2022. Plotts was also named to the 2025 ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team.
