2017: This season, Rex made nine appearances on the mound, in addition to playing multiple positions in the infield for the Highlanders. ...currently hitting .212 with three doubles. He recorded his first college home run of the season in walk-off fashion, in the Highlanders come-from-behind victory against Fairfield on May 2.

2016: Appeared in 20 games with 13 starts for the Highlanders. … Chi Alpha Sigma Award.

2015: Appeared in 36 games with 32 starts. ... in 106 at-bats, had a .198 batting average while recording five doubles and 17 RBIs. ... tallied 62 putouts and 84 assists with a .986 fielding percentage.

2014: One of 53 students in the Honors College freshman class to end the fall 2013 semester with 4.0 grade-point average.  Rex sees himself not as innately intelligent but rather as conscientious and persevering. He even has a semi-jocular mantra that sums his approach to academic success: “The first half of doing well in college is getting your work in on time,” he says. “The other half is getting it right.” ... on the baseball diamond Rex appeared in 40 games and started in 39. ... he had a .171 batting average and in 123 at-bats tallied 11 runs, 21 hits, 4 doubles, and 13 runs batted in. ... tallied 62 putouts, 92 assists (2nd on team) and a field percentage of .975.

Prior to NJIT: Two-time New Jersey Interscholastic Conference (NJIC) Colonial A first-team honos (2012/2013) as an infielder at Rutherford High School. ...all-league honorable mention (freshman), all-league second-team (sophomore). ...named co-captain as a junior and tri-captain during his senior year. ... all-bergen county third-team (junior) and selected to the New Jersey senior all-game (Northeast Squad). ... played for the Lyndhurst Legion.
