Biography

2013: Batted .180 with 24 hits, 17 walks, 19 runs, 11 hbp and eight RBI in his first season at NJIT.

Prior to NJIT: Already established as one of the top players in the Lehigh Valley area near Allentown, PA, Rabasco was selected as the all-area 1st-team second baseman by The Morning Call newspaper in 2012 and 2011. ...Parkland’s leadoff hitter and second baseman, he led the team with 36 hits and hit a team-best .500 with seven doubles, three triples, one home run, 27 runs and 14 RBIs while posting a .556 on-base percentage and .722 slugging percentage. ...In 2011, the honor was certainly merited, as he batted .430 in 23 games, with 34 hits, 7 doubles, a triple, 23 runs scored, 23 runs batted in, eight stolen bases, and a .500 on-base percentage. A terrific contact hitter, Nick struck out just four times in 91 plate appearances. ...In addition to all-area, he was first team all-Lehigh Valley Conference and was picked by his coach as Most Valuable Player of the Parkland High team that captured the Lehigh Valley Conference crown with an 18-5 record. ...In addition to his high school stardom, Rabasco played second base for the Lehigh Valley team in the Carpenter Cup, sponsored by the Philadelphia Phillies. The Carpenter Cup is a long-standing tournament for high school-age all-star teams representing areas in and around Philadelphia, including South Jersey. Lehigh Valley captured the 2011 Carpenter Cup. In the championship game played at the Phillies' Citizens Bank Park, Rabasco drove in an insurance run in the ninth inning of Lehigh Valley's 5-3 win over Burlington County of New Jersey. He also played the last two years on the Lehigh Valley Baseball Academy 18U Elite Team.
