Phil Resciniti enters his first season as a student assistant on coach Callahan's staff. Coach Resciniti played under Callahan from 2002-2005.
Rescinti played four years of varsity baseball at Hanover Park under coach David Minsavage. Rescinti was named to the all-conference team. Was also named all-conference and all-division in ice hockey.
In 2002, in his freshman season Rescinti hit .294 with three RBI in 11 starts. As a starter in his sophomore season, Rescinti split time between catching and playing first base. On the offensive end, he hit .297 in 30 games with 24 RBI. In 2004, his junior season, Rescinti hit .240 with four homers and 20 RBI and set an NJIT school record with 242 putouts. Rescinti was an all-Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II baseball honoree at the catchers position. Resciniti hit .361 with 11 doubles, four homers, 28 runs and 33 RBI in leading the Highlanders to their first winning season since 1995. He has also been named NJIT Male Athlete of the Year, first-team all-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, third-team all-New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association and second-team all-region.
Rescinti is earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the New Jersey School of Architecture at NJIT.
For the last two summers, Resciniti played for the Ocean Giants of the ABCCL.
Son of Philip and Marion Resciniti. Grandfather was a graduate of the NCE.
