Grant Neary joined the NJIT baseball coaching staff in September 2012 as an assistant under head coach Brian Guiliana.

Prior to Neary’s arrival at NJIT, he served as the Assistant Baseball coach at Bloomfield College, an NCAA Division II school. In 2012, Bloomfield advanced to the Quarterfinal of the Central Atlantic College Conference (CACC) Tournament and finished with a 22-21 overall record.  Six players on the 2012 squad earned all-Conference honors, two garnered all-Region honors and two were Rawlings Gold Glove Award recipients under Neary's watch.

Neary served as the Associate Head Baseball Coach, Head Baseball Coach, Assistant Athletic Director and Head Strength and Conditioning coach at the City College of New York from 2009-2011.

In 2010 and 2011, Neary led CCNY to the Quarterfinal Round of the CUNY Conference Playoffs. He coached 12 players to All-Conference honors and one National Strength and Conditioning All-American during his time at CCNY.

Before Neary’s time at CCNY, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Power Hitter Sports Performance LLC from 2006 to 2009. Prior to the opening of his business, he was an Assistant Baseball Coach at Watchung Hills Regional High School from 2005 to 2006.

He helped guide the 2005 Watchung Hills squad to a State Championship and led the Watchung Hills American Legion program to its first playoff berth in over a decade in the summer of 2006.

Neary began his coaching career as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Stevens Institute of Technology from 2001-2003. He was a first-team all-state baseball player at Bridgewater-Raritan (NJ) High School and went on to become a two-sport athlete during his college years.  Coach Neary won both a National and a World Championship in Powerlifting. His college baseball career ended prematurely due to reoccurring shoulder injuries.

Neary is a baseball instructor at the Demarini Top 96 College Recruiting Camp and was the head coach of the Freehold Clippers (ABCCL) in the summer of 2012 with a roster consisting of numerous Division I players from the Atlantic 10 and Big East Conferences and two athletes that competed in the 2012 Division II College World Series.

He is a graduate of Kean University with a degree in Physical Education/Adult Fitness and earned his Master's Degree in Exercise Science and Sport Studies from California University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he has completed 15 credits toward a Master of Arts in teaching degree from New Jersey City University.

He resides in Rockaway with his wife, Kim, daughter, Finley and son, Jack.
