  • Title
    Volunteer Baseball Coach

Craig Anderson joined the NJIT baseball coaching staff in September 2014 as a volunteer assistant under head coach Brian Guiliana.

Prior to coming to NJIT, Anderson spent the previous two seasons coaching at Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls, NJ.  While coaching at Passaic Valley, Anderson was in charge of the pitching staff that showed dramatic improvement in two years.  The pitching staff went from an ERA over 8.50 in 2012, to an ERA of 4.14 in 2013.  The following season Passaic Valley’s pitching staff dropped their ERA down to a 3.91 in the regular season of 2014.

Anderson was the head pitching instructor at Frozen Ropes in Pine Brook, NJ, where he also helped with the training of two professional pitchers (Luis Garcia, Philadelphia Phillies-Triple A-Major League/ Yoel Espinal, NY Yankees), before starting at NJIT.

Before arriving at Passaic Valley as a coach, Anderson played at Passaic Valley, where he earned first- team all-conference, all-county, and all-group selections.

Anderson, who was highly recruited out of high school, decided to play for Marty Kilgore at Maple Woods JUCO in Kansas City, Missouri.  Anderson’s college playing career was shor- lived due to multiple elbow surgeries.

Following his time at Maple Woods, Anderson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Montclair (NJ) State University.
