Biography

2022:  CoSIDA Academic All-District II...America East All-Academic Team...Team captain...broke the single-season hits record (77) and finished the season first all-time in career stolen bases (58), second in career batting average (.309), and third in hits (228)...hit safely in 20-straight games midway through the season to break program-record...had at least two hits in 24 of 52 games played, including 10 three-hit games...48 runs scored, 38 RBI, 13 doubles, and eight home runs were all career-highs...America East Player of the Week (2/21).

2021: Second Team All-America East...America East All-Academic Team...battled injuries, but still saw action in 31 games, making 27 starts...second on the team with 13 stolen bases in 14 chances...blasted a two-run home run to provide all the offense NJIT needed in 2-1 victory at Stony Brook (5/8)...was 4-for-4 in a win against Binghamton (5/16).

2020: One of four Highlanders to start all 16 games in season cut short due to COVID-19 Pandemic...led squad in AVG (.317), OBP (.450), hits (20), doubles (six), and stolen bases (six)...ASUN Player of the Week (3/2)...back-to-back three-hit games against Bucknell (2/29, 3/1)...knocked in a pair of runs at Longwood (2/21) and vs. Bucknell (2/29)...named to ASUN Winner for Life Team...chosen by coaching staff as Team MVP.

2019: Started all 45 games for NJIT. … finished the season, hitting .314 (12th in the ASUN), topping the Highlanders with 58 hits (9th in the ASUN) and ranking tied for fourth with four home runs. … hit safely in the last 15 games, including a five-RBI performance at Saint Peter’s on May 7. … his 11 stolen bases sits in the 11th in the ASUN.

2018: ASUN All-Freshmen team honoree. ...ranks third on the team with a .297 batting percentage. ...combined for 49 hits, which ranked third on the team, 17 runs, 16 RBI, four doubles, one triple and one homerun. ...first collegiate homerun came against Lipscomb (Mar. 30). ...in ASUN action, batted .254 with 18 hits, seven RBI, six runs, two doubles and one homerun.

Prior to NJIT: The 5-foot-10 infielder from Obra D. Tompkins High School, was selected Varsity Player of the Year as a senior and 2017 Texas Region Honorable Mention.  Marcano helped Tompkins to first-ever UIL Region playoff appearance.  He is a recipient of the Falcon Award (sophomore) and set school-record.  Marcano played for the Hunter Pence Baseball Academy.
