COACH KENNEDY ON ALSTON:
“Ron has grown 2/3 inches since HS and enters NJIT as a 6’7 Guard. He can play multiple positions and will give us great flexibility in his first year. Ron is a ferocious competitor and one of the better passers I have seen in quite some time. He played in one of the top Prep School leagues in the country under Coach Danny Manuel at the Miller School in Charlottesville, VA and with Coach Ron Gadson and the VA Elite program.”

Ron Alston, a forward from Virginia, was selected first-team all-Virginia Independent Conference (VIC) Division I as a senior at Miller School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Alston ranked #42 in the state of Virginia in the Class of 2016, finishing his senior campaign with 10.8ppg, 7.1rpg and 4.0apg. ...he earned VIC Division I second-team honors in 2014-15, averaging 12.9ppg, 5.7rpg and 2.6apg. ..Alston, who played for the Virginia Elite AAU team.
