HOBOKEN, NJ–The NJIT men's fencing team went a perfect 4-0 this weekend at the MACFA B Round Robin Sunday afternoon.
The NJIT men picked up wins over Yeshiva, Stevens, Army and Hunter.
Leading the Highlanders on the day was Fabio Mastromarino who went undefeated on the day (12-0) in men's epee competition. Paul Veltrup combined for a 6-0 mark on the epee strip. The epee squad combined for a 33-3 overall record (91.67%).
In men's foil, Robert Rountree went undefeated with a 8-0 mark while Julian Detering went 6-0. The foil squad recorded a 30-6 overall mark (83.33%).
Brandon Howe paced the men's saber squad with a 10-2 record followed by Gonzalo Fernandez (9-1) and Adrian Figueredo (8-0). The saber squad registered a 32-4 overall record (88.89%).
The NJIT women competed at the Stevens Invitational on Sunday, competing against Stevens and Hunter.
Kaydine Gonzalez went 5-1 on the day in the women's saber competition.
The fencing teams will return to action on February 22 at the LIU Invitational.
