LEXINGTON, VA–The NJIT men's swimming and diving team sits in sixth place with 56 points after the first day at the 2026 America East Conference Swim Championships hosted by VMI inside the VMI Aquatic Center.

The Highlanders secured a notable fourth-place finish in the men's 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 6:42.86. 

In the 800-yard freestyle relay, freshman Mateo Rodriguez Agusti helped the team secure fourth place, supported by senior Zac Kuzak, and sophomores Vincent Coppola and Sam Lorenc.

The second day of competition will begin with the swimming prelims at 10:00 a.m., diving final at 1:50pm and and the swimming finals at 5:30 p.m. All events can be watched live on ESPN+.
