BROOKLYN, NY – The NJIT women's volleyball team falls to LIU in straight sets on Tuesday night.

The Highlanders struggled to find consistency on offense, finishing with a team hitting percentage of just .098. NJIT tallied 32 total kills but committed 21 attacking errors across three sets. In contrast, LIU posted a .324 hitting percentage and recorded 44 kills, capitalizing on strong setting and efficient attacking.

Senior outside hitter Mariana Cova led NJIT offensively with 14 points and 12 kills while adding five digs. Freshman outside hitter Emma Wild followed with nine points and eight kills while adding nine digs herself. 

Defensively, the Highlanders were led by Senior Doga Emil who held down on the back line with a match high 11 digs.

Despite the loss, the Highlanders saw flashes of promise, particularly in the first and third sets where they challenged LIU with long rallies and timely digs. NJIT matched the Sharks in tie scores during the first set and showed resilience throughout the match.
