VESTAL, NY – The NJIT women's volleyball team fall to Binghamton on the road Sunday afternoon in a five-set conference contest.

The Highlanders opened the match with a competitive first set, staying neck-and-neck with Binghamton. However, a late Bearcat run helped them take the set 25-22. NJIT bounced back with energy in the second set behind strong play from senior
Doga Emil, who finished the set with a match high of 30 dogs, and sophomore
Cece Marino, who finished the match with a team high 17 assists overall, the Highlanders edged out a 25-22 win to even the match at one set each.
The third set saw the Bearcats regain momentum, taking a 25-19 win. Despite the consistent attack, the Highlanders struggled to find rhythm offensively, hitting just .135. Binghamton's net presence and tough serving kept the Highlanders off-balance.
Refusing to back down, the Highlanders surged in the fourth set, turning up the pressure and controlling the pace from start to finish in a commanding 25-17 victory. The Highlanders hit .366 in the frame, their best of the match.
In a tightly contested fifth set filled with long rallies, the Bearcats outlasted the Highlanders 15-10 to close out the match. NJIT battled closely until the final point but it would be the Bearcats with the match sealing final point.
