Despite the loss, NJIT saw strong individual efforts across the board. Sophomore outside hitter
Aries Fontaine led the team with nine points and eight kills while a
pair of freshmen helped chip in with six points each in Parker Giselle and
Martina Gonzalo Cortes who had four kills and five kills respectively. Parker was the most efficient attacker for the Highlanders, hitting
.800.
Senior
Mariana Cova held the back line for the Highlanders as Cova had a team high nine digs and she was followed by Senior
Doga Emil and Sophomore
Cece Marino who each had seven digs.
The Highlanders showed resilience in key moments, matching New Hampshire in tie scores during the second and third sets and registering five lead changes in both the first and third sets. However, they struggled to maintain offensive consistency, hitting just .145 as a team, compared to New Hampshire's .319.
