NEWARK, N.J. – NJIT men's basketball head coach
Grant Billmeier has announced the addition of transfer guard Jeremy Clayville to the program.
Clayville joins the Highlanders after spending his freshman season at Saint Francis (Pa.), where he was named NEC All-Rookie while helping the Red Flash reach the NCAA Tournament.
"We are thrilled to add Jeremy to NJIT and to the Highlander Family," Billmeier said. "Jeremy is a tough, hard-nosed guard who is a very high level three-point shooter and competitor. He brings NCAA Tournament experience and has won everywhere he has played."
Clayville averaged 7.6 points and was second on the team with 61 made three-pointers en route to garnering his NEC All-Rookie status. He has 12 games last season with at least three made 3-pointers, including a season-best five at Chicago State on Feb. 8.
No stranger to the Garden State, Clayville grew up in Ridgewood, N.J. and attended Saint Joseph Metuchen, where he was a team captain and 1,000 point scorer.
"We are excited to have a great player come back to play in his home state," Billmeier said. "Our fans will love the energy and confidence Jeremy will play with night in and night out."
