Box Score Smithfield, R.I. - The NJIT men's tennis team endured through a tough match on Saturday afternoon, pulling off a victory, 4-3.
"Tough match today," said Head Coach
Marco Matteucci. "Credit to Bryant for really pushing us. Certainly was nice to get a conference win and to know that we have to keep on improving in order to get to April the way we want to."
Junior duo
Pablo Perez Ramos and
Nejc Skorjanc had a stellar performance in the doubles competition, taking the victory in the No. 1 position, 6-3.
Oscar Callo von Platen and
Soma Fukuhara held on late for a victory in No. 2 doubles, 7-6.
In singles, Perez Ramos led the charge out of the top spot for the Highlanders, taking a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Callo von Platen and Fukuhara each added singles wins to their doubles triumph, with the former battling to a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win on the No. 3 court while Fukuhara was victorious in No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6-1.
