Highlanders Rally to Take Down Monmouth, 4-2

Box Score West Long Branch, N.J. – The NJIT men's tennis team returned to the Garden State on Friday afternoon with a 4-2 victory over Monmouth. The Highlanders rallied from dropping the doubles point to earn four singles wins to clinch the match.

The Hawks won on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts to open the match with the advantage. In singles, the momentum for Monmouth continued as Louis Keller took down Nejc Skorjanc to force the Highlanders' backs against the wall.

From there, momentum swung NJIT's way. Pablo Perez Ramos posted a strong performance in the top flight, dominating the first and third sets in his victory over Mateo Bivol, 6-1, 3-6, 6-0. Soma Fukuhara followed up with a straight sets win in No. 4 singles, 6-4, 7-6, while Tom Sorin did the same on the No. 6 court, 7-6, 6-2.

Oscar Callo von Platen was able to lock up the match in NJIT's favor, batting to a three set win in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
